I have a typical low-key twisty route I use to brush up when I’ve been off the bike a few weeks. I know corners by heart. But I also know that there are a ton of moderately likely hazards on the other side of the corner. So I always have all of my braking done before I enter the corner. I tried yesterday to go faster up until the last possible moment so that I could load the tire and trail brake but then I was just going way too slow. How do you load the front tire and keep that pressure engaged into the corner if it causes you to lose too much speed?

    Hi Shelley,

We want to think “lighter, longer” on the brakes. If you’re already braking later than you’d like, try using a little less brake pressure up front and carrying that lighter pressure longer into the corner.
