ChampPD delivers modern, physics-based motorcycle training that reduces crashes, increases officer confidence, and improves overall operational performance.
Professional-Level Visual Awareness
Train officers to read threats, anticipate hazards, and place the motorcycle accurately in complex environments.
Advanced Braking & Speed Control
Front/rear brake mastery, brake-assisted steering, and proven techniques that shorten stopping distances and increase stability.
Modern, Data-Driven Motorcycle Dynamics
Techniques validated by national champions, factory test riders, motor instructors, and military units.
Best Practice Body Positioning
Using body weight and body timing to improve ground clearance, grip, and reduce risk.
Crash Reduction Through Root-Cause Training
Officers learn the Seven Primary Crash Causes and how the Four Champions Habits directly prevent each, leading to fewer incidents and lower liability.
Professional Police Motor Training
Police motor officers face some of the most demanding riding conditions in the world: heavy traffic, unpredictable drivers, tight urban environments, emergency response speeds, rapid directional changes, and long hours spent in the saddle. Their riding skill must be elite—not optional.
Motor Unit Officers are exquisitely trained at low-speed riding skills, perfect for crowd control and events, but are rarely trained at speeds above 30mph. Unfortunately, the job constantly requires officers to ride at speeds well above their training, including pursuit and escort duty. Officers are not getting hurt or killed in the parking lot, they are getting hurt and killed at speed.
ChampPD brings the world-class, physics-backed training of Yamaha Champions Riding School to the law-enforcement community. This is not “motorcycle school with cones.” This is a complete system designed to reduce crashes, improve confidence, and give officers the techniques required to ride safely and efficiently at real-world duty speeds.
Our instructors have trained police agencies nationwide, including state, county, and federal agencies, as well as the United States Marine Corps, military police units, and corporate safety teams.
This is the next generation of police motor officer training.

Officers learn why the bike behaves the way it does—not just how to muscle it through a drill.

- No organizational logistics
- Officers receive full access to our world-class curriculum
- Exposure to diverse riding environments and scenarios
- Access to rental bikes and gear if needed
- Santa Fe PD and Jacksonville Sheriff Department send officers yearly.
ChampPD Instructors Come to Your Department
We travel to your facility and provide full motor-officer training using your motorcycles and your training space (EVOC facilities, unused airport tarmac, etc.).
Ideal for:
- Departments with suitable training facilities
- Agencies wanting to minimize travel costs
- Agencies needing to train multiple officers at once
- LAPD and Yuma PD uses this option.
Benefits:
- Total convenience
- Tailored curriculum based on your riding environment
- Officers train in the exact conditions they serve in
- Lower per-officer cost for medium-to-large departments

What We Teach
ChampPD combines the foundational skills of motor-officer work with data-proven best practices as used by the best riders in the world:
- Mental Focus
How to prepare mentally for high-risk environments, apply focus and re-focus techniques, and use proven mental routines to manage complex, unpredictable situations. - 100 Points of Grip
Understanding tire grip as a finite resource, how to sense and manage traction limits, and how to maintain full control through braking, throttle, and steering transitions. - Radius = MPH
How to control speed through corner radius, manage closing speeds in traffic, and control line choice — essential for pursuits and high-speed maneuvers. - Umbrella of Direction
How to maintain precise directional control, positioning, and acceleration/braking zones for maximum safety and performance. - Body Position
Officers learn how moving mass on the motorcycle affects two-wheeled vehicle dynamics for more control and traction. - Advanced Braking
The front brake is the most important control on the motorcycle because it controls speed, chassis geometry, and front tire contact patch. How can we use the front brake for more control and grip.
Tools and Techniques
Officers will also develop advanced control techniques through practical, on-bike exercises that translate directly to duty riding:
- Vision: Training the eyes to track threats and apexes at high speeds and through complex visual environments.
- Braking Mastery: Front and rear brake management, brake-assisted steering, and the “first and last five percent” technique used by professional riders.
- Body Positioning: Using body weight and posture to stabilize the motorcycle, reduce steering effort, and improve emergency response capability.
Officers will also learn the Seven Primary Causes of Motorcycle Crashes and how the Four Champions Habits directly counteract each.
ChampPD is engineered around how motorcycles actually work, not how riders wish they worked.
