CHAMPSCHOOL AND CHAMPSTREET IN SOUTH CAROLINA

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Carolina Motorsports Park is a special track. All tracks have a character, but CMP’s character is variety. This little track in rural South Carolina about an hour south of Charlotte or thirty minutes north east of Columbia has a little bit everything. It has fast sections, technical sections, it has heavy brake zone and corner where you use 1% of brakes to get direction. It’s flat in section and has elevation in others. This variety makes Carolina Motorsports Park an AMAZING teaching track.

Monday April 17 and Tuesday April 18 will feature our game-changing 2-Day ChampSchool. New to CMP this year, will feature our 1-Day ChampStreet program each day.

ChampStreet will be an 8-hour class held on Caroliona Motorsports Park’s amazing kart track, the paddock area, and speed controlled laps on the big track. ChampStreet is derived from our 2-Day ChampSchool program and is designed for street riders of all levels. The course is taught at highway speeds on your street motorcycle with your street gear, no leathers required.

We will have a complete selection of Yamaha MT-07’s, MT-03’s, MT-09’s, YZF-R6’s, YZF-R3’s and YZF-R7’s available for a true “arrive and ride” experience for our 2-Day ChampSchool program. These rental options are not available for ChampStreet. You can sign up for a ChampSchool rental at registration.

Don’t have leathers? Traveling light? We world’s best safety gear from Dainese and Arai. We will have huge inventory of Dainese leathers, boots, gloves, back protectors and helmets available. Make sure you sign up early with your sizing.

All of our in-person schools come with complimentary access to our Online Champ U: Core Curriculum. This gives every student the opportunity to study the curriculum before you get to the event. This base layer of information greatly improves the experience and internalization of information.

LEARN BEST PRACTICES
NOT TRADITIONS

We do not believe in different levels or that novice riders should learn different techniques than advanced riders. We simply believe there is a consistently safe way to ride a motorcycle at whatever speeds you choose… Regardless of whether commuting, touring, or racing.

Our coaching curriculum builds upon two overarching principles, guided by Best Practices: (1) techniques and approaches of the best riders in the world; and (2) How a modern motorcycle is engineered to be ridden.

We want to make you safer, faster, no matter where you are in your riding career. Those two guiding principles drive our immersive one- or two-day ChampSchool programs. We include van laps, video review, full catering and a 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio. It’s an all-in experience for riders intent on motorcycling excellence. CHAMPSTREET

Our ChampStreet program is designed for street riders of all levels. The course
is taught on your street motorcycle with your street gear, no leathers required, no race bikes allowed! After all, your bike doesn’t know or care if it’s on a track or street or parking lot, it simply works wonderfully or poorly based on rider input. Safety and fun: the goals of our ChampStreet program.

WHAT CAN I DO TO GET READY FOR SCHOOL?

This is a common question and you might be asking it yourself. Our answer is: stretch, get hydrated, well rested, and study Champ U: the Core Curriculum – the online course we send to every student enrolled in our in-person programs.
The in-person programs put a great deal of information in front of the students, and Champ U introduces the vocabulary and concepts in a way that makes the in-person school less initially overwhelming for students.

Dainese, the world leader of protective wear for dynamic sports, is our exclusive performance apparel sponsor. The partnership combines expert rider education and world-class safety apparel with a single goal: improve safety and enjoyment for enthusiasts and beginners alike. Two-day ChampSchool students have the option to rent Dainese leathers, gloves, boots, and a back protector at minimal cost.

World-class engineering, exceptional design, and near infinite adjustability for fit, Arai is the best in the world. We are proud to have partnered with Arai since the schools’ roots as the Freddie Spencer Riding School in the late nineties. Arai supplies all the instructors and we have Arai helmets available to students for rent.

YZF-R6

The track weapon. The ultimate 600. Only at home when being pushed hard and kept at high RPMs. An aggressive riding position and firm suspension mean only one thing:  time to go fast.
Not ideal for a beginner rider.

YZF-R7

A friendly, sporty younger brother of the R6, the R7 is just as happy puttering around as it is riding at the limit. A more comfortable seating position, more useable torque, and a much less demanding powerband means fun at any pace.

YZF-R3

There’s something to be said about making a slow bike go fast. The R3 is both the gateway to the sportbike world and one of the most fun times you can have at speed. Friendly engine, ergonomics, and the least amount of power mean its perfect for both beginners and those who want to really refine technique.

MT-09

The hooligan bike. All the torque you could ever want (and then some), in a lightweight, agile, and wheelie-friendly package. Ideal for those who want some power but have the experience to control their own (maniacal) giggle reaction.

MT-07

Not a fan of the sport bike riding position, but still want to have a blast with a little margin of error built-in? The venerable MT07 is the bike for you. Friendly ergonomics, tame but spunky engine, and smiles for days.

MT-03

For newer riders or those who want a distinct challenge, the MT03 is probably the friendliest bike we’ve ever ridden. Plush and forgiving suspension, just enough torque to chuckle at, and a comfortable seating position means all-day fun on a single tank of gas.
